To Quinnlan at Six

Now We Are Six

When I was one, I had just begun.

When I was two, I was nearly new.

When I was three, I was hardly me.

When I was four, I was not much more.

When I was five, I was just alive.

But now I am six, I'm as clever as clever,

So I think I'll be six now for ever and ever.

- A.A. Milne

Six years ago, at this exact moment, your tiny body still nestled inside mine, we had no idea what joy was to come.  Watching you grow and change and stretch beyond our wildest dreams is the sweetest gift.  We are so very proud of you son.  Happy Birthday to you!
Love,
Mommy & Daddy

I adore this post. My mom taught me that poem when I turned six and I tell it to whomever is 6 in our household. (Currently that is no one as I have 8,7,5,3 and 4mos).

I wanted to touch back to you because you posted on my blog, then saw your gorgeous family and the adorable Quinn. Quinnlynn was on the short list for Mariana Lynn, but I just thought that her being #5 and naming her Quinn was a little too cutesie for our family. Anyway, thank you for your kind words. They are truly valued right now since I'm navigating this new world. I thank God every day for the parents who navigated this before me and beat the path a little clearer for those of us trailing behind you.
God bless y'all!
Barbara
