Yay for Zoo Day!

Just a quick one... didn't get to take nearly as many pictures as I would have liked since I had to juggle my own monkeys. But we had a great afternoon visiting zoo yesterday.

The elephants, as always, were the highlight. I swear this one was smiling at us...
So happy Ed, Erin & Dylan could come too...

Remy has become very bossy & protective of his brother lately. This shot cracked me up... like he was saying no brother, I don't think you should climb this. Didn't stop him, of course.
Once again Quinn is miffed at me for making him wait for something. Little booger turned four & I swear the attitude is in full force.
Looking forward to our 4th o' July weekend!

Free Range Boys

Living in a warehouse has many advantages. One of the biggest downsides though is not having a "real" yard. We make do with our front porch area, safely fenced off & complete with fake grass thanks to Daddy. But there really is nothing like letting little boys roam free-range around a really big yard. Thankfully we have Camp Grandma not too far away! Uncle Ed, Aunt Erin & Cousin Dylan are in town so we drove up Sunday to hang out & play. Whenever we arrive it is only a matter of time before one of the boys asks to go see the chickens... usually it's Remy wanting to gather the eggs. The boy loves eggs. So off we go to visit the chickens...

Should I be worried he brought his club?!?
Quinn giving me "the look" after I tell him he can not feed his hat to the chickens...
Grandma & Uncle Ed...
The boys have a great time picking up apples to feed to the chickens...

Then it's back to porch-sitting & pool-splashing. Love this shot of Remy & Dylan... they look so much alike sometimes & so very different at other times.
This one makes me think I can see what he will look like as a young man...

The elusive G'ma captured on film...

Can't wait to go back to camp Grandma this weekend!

Random summer

Around here we've been loving...

Our Ikea swing thing...

Remy the random who always has to have that little red racecar in his hand...

Eating apples like a big kid...

Funky cool moonrise/sunset combo platter...

And drippy, sweet watermelon at the end of a summer day...
I love the stream of juice running down his arm on this one...

Quinn signing for "more"...

Oh yeah baby... lovin up this summertime.

F stop blues & a very happy father's day

The camera is really gone.
Lost.
At large.
Missing.
The little point & shoot that has captured the past four years of our lives (it was a gift when Quinn was born) disappeared about 2 weeks ago. We kept thinking it was just under something... that happens a lot around here... things disappearing under other things. But after several thorough searches we can't seem to find it anywhere.

That's the bad news.

But the great news is... I got my "real" camera!!!! The most beautiful beast of a camera you ever did see. Just holding its hefty body in my hands makes my heart beat faster. Reminding me of how very much I love taking pictures & being creative & feeling alive. I have been saving for months and was about two-thirds of the way there when husband surprised me with the balance as an anniversary present. Nice husband.

I'm still figuring how to use it... might take me awhile to get the hang of it. But am oh-so-excited about the learning ahead. And I have such wonderful models to practice with...

Got to spend Father's day hanging at the park with our Daddy-O... was a beautiful day all around.

Just call me snap-happy. Many more pics to come...

Noni & Poppi meet Elmo

Had a wonderful visit with Noni & Poppi. As always, the time flew by way too fast... but we enjoyed lots of porch-sitting days as well as several fun outings. They were real troopers & took us on Quinn's birthday to see Sesame Street Live. It was the first live performance for the boys & although they were a bit overwhelmed to start, Quinn was soon clapping along & cheering. Remy went back & forth from sheer joy to clinging to my neck in terror... hopefully not a lasting childhood trauma. Unfortunately we barely have any pictures to share since our camera is missing & my iPhone just doesn't cut it as a camera.

After the performance both boys looked like this:
Sacked out! Then we were off to our favorite Mexican restaurant for lunch. I swear my boys would live on rice, beans, chips & salsa if I let them!

We made our way home & relaxed a bit... then it was time for presents & cake. Sorry no pictures of this yet... took a few on our friend's camera & will post when I get them. It totally sucks not having a camera.

Thank you Scott for coming over to take these before our visit was over...

Noni & Poppi we miss you already! Thank you for everything. Especially for going with us for the boys first movie theater experience (Toy Story 3.) They had a blast & it was all the more special sharing it with you. Come back soon!
