It is official.
Quinn has taken his first steps. On his own. No helping hands. He walked from the kitchen into the living room unassisted. Even though it has taken so long for us to get to this point, it still feels like yesterday he looked like this:
And we were hoping he would just roll over/sit up/pull up/stand... and here he is walking. A good reminder that he will get there eventually... whatever that next step might be... it is only a matter of time.

We just got back from a wonderful visit with the grandparents. Air travel with two under two is quite an adventure to be sure! Although the trip home was quite challenging, we survived it just fine & the boys did great. (Thank goodness for portable DVD players & Baby Signing Times videos!)
Had a fun visit with Noni & Poppi - we mostly just relaxed and hung out at home. One afternoon we went out to lunch & had the "best fried shrimp I have ever eaten" according to William & Poppi. The weather was nice & we went for walks & played outside in Noni's garden.
Our next stop was to see Grandma & Grandpa Z.
All of the aunts, uncles & cousins were there too. We all went out for a delicious Mother's Day brunch & spent the rest of our time there visiting & eating & walking around the lake (& eating some more!)
We were so excited to meet our new cousin Dylan - he is a doll! Quinn had a great time playing with his cousin Addison. She taught him a few moves & he has made great progress with the walking. He will now walk (for everyone except Mommy!) holding on to just one hand. He has taken a few steps on his own and we are working on building his confidence to let go more often. We have already had to step up the baby-proofing at home since he is progressing quickly. He is doing really well with his sign language and has a repertoire of about a dozen signs.
Remy continues to grow bigger every day! He is now smiling & laughing regularly and loves to watch his big brother playing. He still wakes us up a few times at night, but we're hoping (fingers crossed) that he will start sleeping longer at night VERY soon.
